Samsung Galaxy S26 to Support AirDrop through Quick Share for Seamless File Sharing

Samsung Galaxy S26 to Introduce AirDrop Compatibility via Quick Share

Samsung has officially announced that its Galaxy S26 series will soon support Apple’s AirDrop functionality through Google’s Quick Share feature. This development was confirmed by Choi Won-jun during a press conference in Japan, as reported by Korean publication EBN. Choi stated, We plan to support AirDrop compatibility starting with the Galaxy S26 series… It will be provided sequentially through software updates.

This integration will enable Galaxy S26 users to seamlessly share files with Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs, using the AirDrop protocol. The rollout will commence with the Galaxy S26 series, with plans to extend support to other Galaxy devices in the future, though specific timelines have not been disclosed.

Google initially introduced AirDrop support via Quick Share on its Pixel 10 series last year, allowing Pixel devices to appear within AirDrop on Apple devices when set to Everyone mode. This move by Samsung signifies a broader trend towards cross-platform compatibility, enhancing user convenience and bridging the gap between Android and iOS ecosystems.
