Apple TV+ Brings Back ‘Friday Night Baseball’ on March 27 for 2026 MLB Season

Apple has announced the return of Friday Night Baseball to its Apple TV+ streaming service, with the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) season set to commence on Friday, March 27. This marks the fifth consecutive season of the weekly doubleheader series, offering fans an enhanced viewing experience with expert commentary and high-quality production.

The opening night will feature two exciting matchups: the Los Angeles Angels will take on the Houston Astros, followed by the Cleveland Guardians facing the Seattle Mariners. These games will be available to Apple TV+ subscribers across 60 countries and regions, providing a global audience with access to premier MLB content.

Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music, Apple TV, Sports, and Beats, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering a superior baseball viewing experience. He stated, ‘Friday Night Baseball’ on Apple TV continues to elevate how fans experience the game. With cutting-edge production—including the integration of iPhone to capture immersive new perspectives—and a full season of marquee matchups available without local broadcast restrictions, we’re delivering a modern, premium broadcast experience designed for fans everywhere.

In addition to the Friday night games, Apple TV+ will offer a range of MLB-related content throughout the week. Starting on March 26, U.S. fans can tune into the MLB Big Inning show each weeknight, featuring live look-ins and in-game highlights. Other programming includes Countdown to First Pitch, MLB Daily Recap, and MLB This Week, providing comprehensive coverage of the season.

The full schedule for the first half of the Friday Night Baseball season is available on Apple’s website. Notably, the service is included at no additional cost with an Apple TV+ subscription, which is priced at $12.99 per month.

Apple’s partnership with MLB began in 2022, and the continuation of Friday Night Baseball underscores the company’s dedication to expanding its sports content offerings. This initiative aligns with Apple’s broader strategy to enhance its streaming platform by providing exclusive access to live sports events, thereby attracting a diverse audience of sports enthusiasts.
