Tidal Releases Update to Resolve Android Auto Playback Issues
In late January 2026, numerous Tidal users began reporting significant playback issues when using the app through Android Auto. Users detailed that audio would either fail to play entirely or would start and then abruptly stop. Standard troubleshooting methods, such as clearing cache, reinstalling the app, and checking device connections, proved ineffective. Some users found a temporary workaround by playing audio in offline mode, but this was not a sustainable solution.
After a week of user reports and feedback, Tidal acknowledged the issue and announced the release of an update aimed at resolving the problem. The update, version 2.177.1, began rolling out to users via the Google Play Store. Tidal stated that they believe this update addresses the playback issues experienced with Android Auto. However, they also noted that the rollout might take several weeks to reach all users.
Users are encouraged to check the Google Play Store for the update and install it once available. If issues persist after updating, Tidal recommends reaching out to their support team for further assistance.
