Google’s Gemini App Adds ‘Documents’ Section for Enhanced Deep Research and Canvas Management

Gemini App Enhances User Experience with Dedicated ‘Documents’ History for Deep Research and Canvas Creations

Google’s Gemini app has introduced a significant update, enhancing user experience by adding a dedicated Documents section within the My Stuff folder. This new feature provides users with streamlined access to their Deep Research reports and Canvas creations, including text and code documents.

Previously, the My Stuff area displayed all user-generated content in a grid format, which was not particularly efficient for managing long document titles. The recent redesign addresses this by introducing a more organized layout. The Media section continues to showcase generated images and videos, while the newly added Documents section lists Deep Research reports and Canvas creations. Users can quickly access their most recent documents, with the option to view the full list at gemini.google.com/mystuff/documents.

To enhance usability, icons are placed to the left of each entry, allowing users to easily distinguish between reports, text documents, and coding projects. This visual aid simplifies navigation and improves the overall user experience.

As of now, this feature is available on the web platform. The mobile applications for Android and iOS have yet to receive this update. However, mobile users can look forward to a new shortcut to NotebookLM in the account menu, which opens the full-featured website, providing seamless access to their documents.

This update is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to enhance the functionality and user-friendliness of the Gemini app, ensuring that users have efficient tools to manage and access their content.
