Apple Maps Web Version Exits Beta, Now Accessible on Mobile Devices

Apple has officially transitioned its web-based Apple Maps from beta to a full release, now extending support to mobile devices, including iPhones and Android smartphones. This development allows users across various platforms to access Apple Maps directly through their web browsers.

Previously, the web version of Apple Maps was limited to desktop and tablet browsers. With this update, users can navigate to [maps.apple.com](https://maps.apple.com) on their mobile devices to utilize the service. This expansion is particularly significant for Android users, who can now opt for Apple Maps as an alternative to other mapping services.

The web application offers functionalities such as map exploration, business searches, points of interest, directions, and curated Guides. However, certain features like transit maps, 3D buildings, and the ability to sign in with an Apple Account to access saved places and custom Guides are not yet available.

In December 2024, Apple enhanced the web app by introducing the Look Around feature, providing users with 360-degree panoramic views of select locations. This feature can be accessed by clicking the binoculars icon within Apple Maps.

Apple has indicated plans to continue adding new features and expanding platform support for the Apple Maps web application in future updates.
