TikTok Introduces ‘Shared Collections’ and Teases ‘Shared Feeds’ for Enhanced Collaborative Content Sharing
TikTok has unveiled Shared Collections, a new feature designed to allow users to collaboratively organize and share content with friends and family. This addition builds upon the platform’s existing Collections feature, which enables users to save videos into personalized folders. With Shared Collections, users can now create joint spaces to curate content collectively, enhancing the communal experience on the app.
For instance, families can compile holiday dinner recipes, friends can gather home decor inspirations, or groups can plan events by sharing relevant TikTok videos in a single, organized collection. This feature aims to streamline the process of content sharing and organization, making it more interactive and collaborative.
To create a Shared Collection, both users must follow each other on TikTok. These collections can remain private between the participants or be made public for a broader audience. The feature is available globally to users aged 16 and above, ensuring a wide reach while maintaining user safety and privacy.
In addition to Shared Collections, TikTok has teased the upcoming launch of Shared Feeds, set to roll out in the coming months. This feature will allow users to discover and watch content together through a shared, interest-based feed. Users can generate Shared Feeds within one-on-one direct messages, creating a personalized stream of videos tailored to both users’ preferences.
The Shared Feeds will present a curated selection of 15 videos daily, reflecting the combined interests and interactions of both users. This approach ensures a fresh and relevant viewing experience each day, fostering deeper connections through shared content consumption.
These innovations align with TikTok’s ongoing efforts to enhance user engagement and community building. By introducing features that promote collaborative content sharing and discovery, TikTok continues to evolve as a platform that not only entertains but also connects users in meaningful ways.
