WisdomAI Secures $50 Million Series A Funding Led by Kleiner Perkins and Nvidia
WisdomAI, an innovative AI data analytics startup founded by Soham Mazumdar, co-founder of Rubrik, has successfully raised $50 million in a Series A funding round. This round was spearheaded by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, with additional investment from NVentures, Nvidia’s venture capital arm. This latest infusion of capital comes approximately six months after WisdomAI’s initial seed funding of $23 million, which was led by Coatue.
The company’s platform is designed to process and analyze data in its raw form, including structured, unstructured, and dirty data—data that may contain errors or inconsistencies. Users can interact with the system by posing questions in natural language. For example, a business manager might ask, How many customers are currently in our pipeline, and what obstacles are preventing them from closing this quarter? WisdomAI’s system is capable of parsing such queries and delivering insightful responses.
A significant challenge in AI-driven analytics is the phenomenon known as hallucination, where large language models (LLMs) generate incorrect or misleading information. WisdomAI addresses this issue by employing LLMs solely for the purpose of generating data queries, rather than for formulating the answers themselves. This approach ensures that any inaccuracies in the LLM’s output result in ineffective queries, rather than erroneous data being presented as fact.
To further enhance the accuracy and relevance of its analytics, WisdomAI has developed a proprietary enterprise context layer. This component examines and interprets customer data to provide contextually appropriate insights. The founding team, all of whom previously collaborated with Mazumdar at Rubrik, bring extensive experience in enterprise data storage and security to the venture. Mazumdar departed from Rubrik in 2023 to pursue this new endeavor.
Since its official launch in late 2024, WisdomAI has experienced rapid growth, expanding its client base from two to approximately 40 enterprise customers. Notable clients include Descope, ConocoPhillips, Cisco, and Patreon. The company has also observed significant increases in usage among its clients. For instance, some customers have doubled their usage within a two-month period, while another expanded from 10 to 450 user seats, effectively encompassing nearly the entire organization.
In addition to its core analytics capabilities, WisdomAI has recently introduced an agentic feature designed to provide real-time alerts on critical changes in monitored situations. Mazumdar shared an example of this functionality: I have created an agent which is watching our product usage metrics and our ticket information, he explained. This agent was set up in approximately five minutes and is configured to notify him only when significant events occur, rather than inundating him with constant reports. I think that’s the magic with analytics. It’s always been a static report, but we are making it dynamic. We are making it proactive, he added.
The successful Series A funding round underscores the confidence that investors have in WisdomAI’s approach to AI-driven data analytics. By focusing on accurate, context-aware insights and addressing common pitfalls in AI applications, the company is well-positioned to make a substantial impact in the enterprise analytics space.
