Google has expanded its AI Mode feature within Google Search to Spanish-speaking users globally, enhancing the search experience by enabling natural language interactions, image uploads, and in-depth exploration of complex topics. This rollout follows the August 2025 expansion, which introduced AI Mode to 180 additional countries beyond its initial availability in the U.S., U.K., and India. During that expansion, Google also introduced advanced AI capabilities for Google AI Ultra subscribers, allowing them to make restaurant reservations directly through AI Mode, with plans to support other types of appointments and event ticket purchases in the future.
In addition to the Spanish-language rollout, Google has been rapidly integrating AI across its products and services. For instance, the company recently introduced conversational photo editing to all Android users in the U.S. Furthermore, Google’s more affordable AI Plus subscription plan, initially launched in Indonesia, has now expanded to 40 more countries. This expansion aligns with OpenAI’s recent launch of its ChatGPT Go plan, a mid-tier subscription option offering higher usage limits and improved conversation memory for more personalized responses.
Earlier this month, Google announced that AI Mode now supports additional languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese. With the addition of Spanish, AI Mode is now accessible to a broader audience, allowing users to engage in conversational search experiences in their preferred language.
It’s important to distinguish between Google’s AI Mode and AI Overviews. AI Mode offers an immersive, conversational experience where users interact directly with Google’s AI, while AI Overviews provide quick, AI-generated summaries of search queries at the top of search results.
