Apple has expanded its retail footprint in India with the inauguration of its third store, Apple Hebbal, located in Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia. This new outlet joins Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in Delhi, underscoring the company’s commitment to the Indian market.
Store Design and Features
Apple Hebbal spans approximately 8,000 square feet on the first floor of the mall, occupying units F-39 to F-43. The store’s design aligns with Apple’s global aesthetic, featuring a large video wall for Today at Apple sessions, signature wooden tables displaying a range of Apple products, and dedicated areas for accessories like iPhone cases, Apple Watch bands, and HomePod mini. A Genius Bar offers expert support, and an Apple Pickup area facilitates convenient online order collections.
Sustainability and Staffing
In line with Apple’s environmental goals, Apple Hebbal operates entirely on renewable energy and maintains a carbon-neutral status. The store employs 70 team members from 15 states across India, reflecting the country’s diverse talent pool. These employees are trained to assist customers with product inquiries, financing options, trade-ins, and personalized setups.
Customer Experience
Visitors to Apple Hebbal can explore the latest Apple products, including the iPhone 16 series, MacBook Pro with M4 chips, iPad Air with Apple Pencil Pro, and Apple Watch Series 10. Accessories such as AirPods 4 and AirTag are also available. The store offers personalized shopping sessions with Apple Specialists and hosts Today at Apple sessions—free, hands-on events led by Apple Creatives covering topics like photography, art, coding, and productivity.
Strategic Significance
The opening of Apple Hebbal marks a significant step in Apple’s expansion strategy in India. Bengaluru, known as the country’s technology hub, plays a crucial role in Apple’s global manufacturing and operational plans. The city houses a $2.6 billion plant built by Foxconn, Apple’s assembly partner, and a 15-story office accommodating teams working on customer support, operations, software engineering, and hardware technologies.
Market Expansion
Apple’s decision to open a third store in India reflects its confidence in the country’s growing consumer purchasing power and its strategy to deepen retail presence in key metropolitan markets. The move also aligns with Apple’s broader efforts to diversify its supply chain and reduce dependency on other manufacturing hubs.
Community Engagement
To celebrate the opening, Apple has released special Apple Hebbal wallpapers and curated an Apple Music playlist featuring local Bengaluru artists. These initiatives aim to connect with the local community and celebrate the city’s rich cultural heritage.
Leadership Statement
Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail and People, expressed enthusiasm about the new store: We’re delighted to open Apple Hebbal, a community hub that celebrates Bengaluru’s spirit of innovation. We can’t wait to connect with people here and inspire them to create, collaborate, and do amazing things with Apple.
Operational Details
Apple Hebbal officially opens to the public on September 2 at 1 P.M. IST. Customers can visit the store to experience Apple’s products and services firsthand, participate in educational sessions, and receive expert support from the dedicated team.
