Chipolo has unveiled two innovative item trackers, the Loop and the Card, both featuring rechargeable batteries and compatibility with Android’s Find Hub network. This development addresses previous concerns about battery limitations in Chipolo’s earlier models.
Traditionally, item trackers have employed one of three battery solutions:
1. Replaceable Coin Cell Batteries: Common in many trackers, these batteries require periodic replacement, which can be inconvenient due to their limited availability.
2. Non-Replaceable Built-in Batteries: Some trackers, including Chipolo’s earlier card models, featured built-in batteries that couldn’t be replaced. Once depleted, users had to replace the entire device, often at a discounted rate.
3. Rechargeable Batteries: This approach offers a sustainable and user-friendly solution, allowing users to recharge their devices as needed.
With the introduction of the Loop and Card trackers, Chipolo has embraced the rechargeable battery model, enhancing user convenience and environmental sustainability.
Chipolo Loop:
– Design and Features: The Loop boasts a built-in key ring attachment, facilitating easy attachment to keys, bags, or other personal items. It is available in six vibrant colors: navy, mint, honey, coral, charcoal, and chalk.
– Charging and Battery Life: Equipped with a USB-C charging port, the Loop offers approximately six months of battery life on a single charge.
– Connectivity: The device provides a Bluetooth range of up to 400 feet, ensuring reliable tracking within this radius.
Chipolo Card:
– Design and Features: Designed to fit seamlessly into wallets, the Card is a sleek, card-sized tracker available exclusively in charcoal. It features a textured matte surface with a glossy accent button that allows users to locate their phone with a double press.
– Charging and Battery Life: The Card supports Qi wireless charging and offers a battery life of approximately six months per charge.
– Connectivity: Similar to the Loop, the Card provides a Bluetooth range of up to 400 feet.
Both devices are constructed from recycled plastic, underscoring Chipolo’s commitment to environmental responsibility. They are compatible with both Android’s Find Hub and Apple’s Find My networks, though they can only be connected to one network at a time.
